Course Objectives:
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

Assess whether and how copyright law and policy impacts quality instruction and academic values;

Describe key copyright law principles and their application to course development, instruction and libraries;

Assess institutional copyright policies in light of case law and statutory requirements;

Assess institutional processes for managing copyrighted information;

Review various approaches to open access initiatives;

Analyze the DMCA and its impact on colleges and universities;

Develop potential education and policy solutions for managing copyrighted material on campus.
