Winners of each category will receive free registration in a workshop of their choice. Winners will also be highlighted throughout the member community, on the CIP website, and through our Digital Copyright Listserv. Winners of all categories will also be entered for a chance to win a free registration to CIP’s 2010 Symposium: Hybrid Copyright. The symposium will be held at the DC Convention Center June 22-24, 2010 just before the American Library Association’s Annual Conference. |
How to Enter:
- Register for the contest by following the link to the entry form page within our Member Community.
- Please carefully read all of the contest rules and details below.
Contest Rules:
- Contest entries must be submitted by February 5, 2010 for consideration. Winners will be announced later in the spring.
- You are submitting works to the Center for Intellectual Property — so please, don’t steal other people’s works and claim it as your own. It just makes everyone look bad.
- You are encouraged, however, to make use of materials available under Creative Commons licenses. Please follow the rules of the license.
- Contest entrants must be 18 years of age or older.
- The Center for Intellectual Property’s determination as to what constitutes an acceptable work will be final. Submissions that use profane materials or content will not be accepted for consideration.
A Few Final Details:
- By submitting an entry, you are representing and warranting that the content in your entry is authorized to be licensed to the general public under a Creative Commons license.
- If you use content that you are not authorized to use, you are not entitled to enter this competition and your entry will automatically be disqualified by the sponsors (CIP) and not considered by the judges. To be eligible an entrant or group of named entrants, must have express permission (via license or otherwise) to use or incorporate those portions of the content authored or owned by third parties and license content in accordance with these rules. Any materials that infringe the rights of any third party may not be used and should not be submitted as an entry to this contest.
- By entering into this Contest you consent to the use of your name in conjunction with the Center for Intellectual Property, its programs and resources.
- Once the scoring of the entries has been completed, the CIP will notify the top winning entry via email and/or telephone using the contact information submitted by the entrants in the "Project Profile" Contest Entry Form. If a winner fails to respond within 10 days of the date of the notification, that winner will be disqualified and the next highest scoring entry will be selected as an alternate winner and notified according to this procedure. By clicking "Save and Continue" on the contest entry form you agree to the Project Profile contest rules including giving CIP the right to use your name, photo(s), and content for promotional purposes.
- This contest is not open to corporate entities of any kind. Odds of winning will depend on the total number of entries received and the skill of each participant. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
