TOK How important are the opinions of experts in the search of knowledge? Well, the opinions of expert is very important and/or valid in the search of knowledge because they are the people who know the most, or the people that know more than others, as long as they prove what they are talking about, or arguing about, but not only the opinion of the experts is important, the opinion of the non-experts and everybody is also important, because they know their own things.

No one can learn everything and much less by them self. When you are searching for knowledge you are getting facts and truths for yourself, there have been people who have the time to develop their own ‘thing’, who became an expert, just as you will have developed your own ‘thing’. We all have freedom of thought, for the most part, and that allows us to gain and exchange knowledge with other people, from those who have developed opinions, in order to gain even more knowledge, so that we may form our own opinion.

Your time and energy can be focused on your next step in your plan by heeding advice and opinion from others and by not having to do all the research alone. The idea of the expert is necessary only when dealing in specifics, in something detailed. The true expert at philosophy is he or she who lives what they think. All true philosophers live their own philosophy, this means, that they live based on what they think and on the opinion of live and knowledge.

The quote “There is no absolute distinction between what is true and what is false. ” Is false in the logic point, because you can say what is true based on the logic you have, or say what is false based on what you have seen, but is false at the point that you haven’t seen that or haven’t know what is there, that you don’t know what is really true, or false.

To say that they are both “men” is true, in one sense that may be said to be true: the man in the painting is certainly not a horse. True and false are context dependent. This is just as much the case with ethics. When we say something is “good” or “bad” ethically, we mean good or bad for us, as conscious beings. Once ethics are understood this way, what is or is not conducive to our being is clearly testable and not arbitrary or merely culturally defined.
