Low company morale in surveyed employees. 1. 80% of employees feel overworked causing poor work performance. 2. 5% of employees felt underpaid causing low morale. 3. Both the HR department and management have a lack of communication regarding company policy which leads to lack of implementation. C. Contracted clients felt quality and work ethic had completely gone down. 1. 4 client complaints in 1 month which is hurting company image. 2. 2 clients emphasized change in work quality in the last year causing clients to look for other companies. 3. 3 clients complained of failure to hit promised deadlines which caused loss of business. Ensure HR manager has a complete understanding of company policy. 1. HR manager will be trained in all company policy. 2. Follow up to make sure HR is enforcing company policies. B. Institute a strict policy regarding compensation and overtime. 1. HR managers will be responsible for tracking employees work hours and noting all overtime worked. 2. Managers will be required to note once an employee has worked there contracted hours and at that point offer employee additional hours. 3. HR managers are required to go over all employee contracts and ensure employees understand their rights and requirements completely.
C. Higher additional employees 1. This branch is being required to hire additional staff to assist in meeting deadlines. 2. Branch is required to hire more graphic designers and copy writers to alleviate some of the work load. Identity of Facility Roanoke, VA Branch, Phoenix Advertising Description of Investigation I spent 5 days at the Roanoke, VA location comparing company policy with branch policies.
Two full days were spent surveying employees regarding work conditions and daily operations. I sent out companywide email surveys which were submitted anonymously by employees. I used the surveys as a way to better understand how the employees felt. I also contacted all four clients that complained so that I could get an outside perspective of how the company appeared to be operating. Results My investigation identified the following issues: 1. There is a lack of understanding amongst all employees regarding company policy. 2. Management does not follow HR procedure. 3. HR is not enforcing corporate policy. 4.
Employees don’t understand their employee contracts 5. Lack of understanding in HR policy has lead to an abuse of policy. 6. Employees being over worked and underpaid. 7. Because of over working employees work quality has gone down. 8. Low wages have lead to poor morale and employees leaving the company. 9. Lack of employees and poor work quality have lead to dissatisfied customers. 10. Dissatisfied customers have begun to look elsewhere for their advertising. Conclusions Due to lack of communication and understanding of company HR policies regarding employees has lead to poor company morale and work production.
Employees are being overworked and underpaid which in return has lead to employee turn over and dissatisfied customers. This branch services are largest customers and a failure at this branch could have a severe impact on the company as a whole. Recommendations 1. Provide all branch employees with training on company policies. 2. Follow up and ensure HR department has a complete understanding of company policy. 3. Institute a strict policy regarding compensation and overtime. 4. Make HR managers responsible for tracking employees work hours and noting all overtime worked by employees. 5.
Require all managers to note once an employee has worked there contracted hours and then at that point offer the employee additional hours if they so choose to do so. 6. Require HR managers to go over all employee contracts and ensure employees understand their rights and requirements completely. 7. Hire additional staff to help meet deadlines.
