I learned that to be an ethical learner requires honesty. We should behave in an ethical manner and make proper choices when doing our work. I also learned that by taking short cuts and cheating and could away with it, in the end you are only cheating yourself and building up a poor character of yourself.

Also by cheating you are depriving yourself of the full learning experiences that you are paying for and by cheating yourself will create a bad habit and only hurt yourself down the road. • Why are the Student Code of Conduct and Student Code of Academic Integrity important to you and the University of Phoenix learning community? They are important to me and the University of Phoenix community because it shows that myself and every student that we all should behave honestly and be respectful of the rules, codes, and guidelines given to us.

This also reminds me that we all are given the same rules and there are no exceptions, kind of like an even playing field. I believe the reason the student codes of conduct and integrity are important for the University of Phoenix is that as students we directly reflect our school and how others would view it. If we are all honest and respectful others will view the school the same way. However if we are dishonest and create an unsafe learning environment other might view the school and its students in a negative way. I was always taught that your reputation is everything guard it with your life.
